Painter - Writer - illustrator - Professor, Communication Arts
Sterling Clinton Hundley is an illustrator, writer and painter based in Richmond, Virginia. He is the founder of Legendeer, a Professor in the Department of Communication Arts at Virginia Commonwealth University, and one of five core art instructors at the Illustration Academy.
He has created work for a wide range of clients, including: Rolling Stone, Marvel, the Grammys, GQ, the New Yorker, the New York Times, the Los Angeles Times, the Washington Post, Red Bull, Harper Collins, Penguin, Random House, and Major League Baseball. Sterling is the recipient of three Gold and two Silver medals from the Society of Illustrators New York, Gold and Silver medals from the Illustrators Club in Washington, D.C, and the "Best Overall" and "Best Illustrated Book" awards from the Victoria & Albert Museum in London England.
In 2014, he illustrated the classic "Treasure Island" for The Folio Society in London, England.
His latest painting show, “A Familiar Interval”, opened in Richmond, VA in 2018.
